6 Weeks Old

Little Miss Muffin, as we call her here, is continuing her growth spurts. She enjoyed meeting Uncle Matt for the first time this week and was mesmerized by him. Jordyn is also holding up her head more and enjoying her awake time. Her favorite time of the day is still when daddy gets home, she loves to sit with him and gazes adoringly at him.

We also had our first Christmas with Jordyn. Although she slept through the whole thing, she received the most gifts and is enjoying her new outfits from Grandma and Grandpa.

Grandma Martin sent her a rocking horse that makes noises! Its very cute and we can't wait until she is old enough to ride it.

One Month Old

Jordyn reached one month old this week! She is continuing to grow like crazy, she is well on her way to 10 lbs. Jordyn has outfits that she outgrows daily. She is holding up her head very well during tummy time and is enjoying seeing grandma and grandpa daily. Grandpa sings songs to her and she stares at him and listens to every word. It's very sweet.

Sean and I are still exhausted and can never seem to catch up on sleep. We're looking forward to Christmas, Sean will have a couple of days off. Our house continually looks like a tornado swept through. It's amazing how a little munchkin like Jordyn can cause so much disarray.

3 Weeks Old

Jordyn reached 8.5 lbs! She is growing so fast, it literally feels like over night. She is spending more time awake and loves to look at her toys. She is holding her head up more and able to turn it from side to side. She loves it when her daddy gets home from work because he feeds her and puts her to bed for the evening. Tonight she stared at him for about 30 minutes and smiled, it was so sweet.

First Outing

We had our first outing to Safeway! It was quite an experience but made us feel confident that we can do this!!! We took Jordyn to the dr and she is gaining weight. She now weighs 7 lbs 6oz. Her cheeks are filling out and she is so adorable. We are having lots of fun getting to know all of her sounds and movements. Sean and I are both camped out on the couch and exhausted but we're pulling through and I'm determined that it will start to get easier.

Jordyn Kay Twohy

We had quite a surprise about two weeks ago! Jordyn decided that it was time to grace us with her presence. We are so happy she did and are having the time of our life.

Friday November 14 I started having contractions at school and didn't really realize what they were. I had a dr apt at 4:30 that day so I decided I would stick it out and wait until my dr apt to see what was going on. Well, at about noon, my contractions got closer together and were a lot stronger. So, I split my class and left school at 2:30. By the time I got to the dr office, my contractions were 5 minutes apart and very strong and regular. I was also 6 cm dilated and my sac of water was hanging out and leaking. Jordyn was still breech so my dr called and ambulance to transport me to the hospital! I never thought I would be in an ambulance, let alone minutes from delivering my baby! We got to the hospital at 4:15 and I was 10 cm dialted, water hanging out more, and Jordyn was moving her feet down my pelvis. The only option at this point was an emergency c-section. When I arrived to the hospital, there were about 9 nurses and drs waiting for me, poking me with stuff and getting me prepped for a c-section. I met my dr in the OR at 4:45 and Jordyn was born at 5:03 pm!

She was 7 lbs 2 oz. and 19 3/4 inches long. Very healthy and doing great. We're all recovering and at home now getting used to our new life. Sean and I are both tired but hanging in there. We are SO in love and just admiring her daily.

Another Baby Shower

My friends at school threw a baby shower for me. It was so nice of them to do and they gave very thoughtful gifts.

Sean and I went to a childbirth class which was very informational. Sean learned a lot! He now feels prepared to coach and get us through the birthing process.

We're at the end of 35 weeks and found out at our Dr. apt that little Jordyn is breech! So, her head is the opposite way that it should be at this point. I'm also measuring 4 weeks farther a long that I should at this point. We're scheduled for an ultra sound this week and should find out how much she weighs and see if it's her that is big or me. Based on the ultra sound, we'll start making decisions for delivery. We'll keep you posted!

Running All Over The Place

This weekend was dedicated to running errands and getting last minute things that we think we'll need. I was in desparate need to shop for myself this weekend which I did-it was so comforting! Things are coming a long well...Jordyn is getting bigger and her movements are more rolls than "kicks". It's very strange to see your stomach move and think, "that's a foot!". We have a dr apt on Friday so we'll keep everyone posted on the latest and greatest. I'll be 35 weeks this week! AAAHH!! It's going to be here before we know it!

Festive Weekend

Time has slipped by! I can't believe how fast things are going-all of a sudden we're washing clothes, packing bags, and trying to find a place for Jordyn's gifts.

We had a great weekend last weekend-baby shower and celebrating my birthday. Our great friends the Merritts and Leah came to celebrate with us. My parents and EP and Sandy Twohy also came into town for it. Although it was busy, we had a fabulous time together and somehow it was relaxing at the same time! Jordyn received a lot of gifts, she is very spoiled and loved. She has more clothes and stuff than Sean and I!

We're both busy getting ready for the arrival of our little one. I have about 4 more weeks of work left and then will start my leave.

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Well, we're at 31 weeks now and had a dr apt this week. So far, things are going good. Jordyn is measuring quite large so in 4 weeks we'll do an ultra sound and check her lungs to see if she can be ready to deliver early. So, we could have our little one here before we know it! It's coming up so quickly now and we still have a lot to do!

Next weekend our good friends the Merritts, Leah, and Mama Kay and Papa Ken are coming into town for the baby shower. We can't wait to see everyone!

30 Weeks

Today we had our last 3/4D ultrasound which was so fun! We got some great pictures of Jordyn. She loves to have her hands around her face and is not cooperative in turning to get full face shots. She's really comfy all squished against the placenta. She loves to put her hands in her mouth and grab her toes. We got to see her yawn, smile, and frown-all very adorable. She also has super cubby cheeks, just like her dad when he was born. And, we think she has Sean's nose. If so, she's lucky because it's cute!

Mama Kay and Papa Ken sent us a glider this week which we love. It's so comfortable to sit in an just rock. We also got a car seat and a baby einstein entertainer. I can't wait to see Jordyn in all of her new stuff! She's already very spoiled and loved.

Football Sunday

Football all day long! Jordyn must be getting used to the sounds of the tv and football games. This will prepare the little one for her daddy. We invited some Cardinals over to watch the sad game today and some of my teacher friends came too! It was very relaxing and nice to see everyone.

We put together the crib and high chair and love them both! Getting bigger as the days go by...28 Weeks and 5 days right now...

Countdown Begins!

We are now officially counting down the days until Jordyn arrives! We finally put our crib together and received a high chair from Grandma Martin; it's so cute. I am getting tired, can't breathe, and am getting big, AND I feel like I still have a long time to go. Sean has been SO great, we bought a gift for him this week: at 58inch flat screen tv. He loves it!
